Music | 7 Songs for Pillow Talk time

Querida Sofia,

Além das músicas para falar de amor e as dos momentos mais sexy, acho que um dos momentos na intimidade que mais pedem música são os momentos de Pillow Talk, vulgo "conversa de almofada". Para mim, este é momento mais precioso do dia para um casal. Aquele momento em que colamos as nossas almofadas, começamos a esquecer o stress do dia ou então queremos lembrar o quanto o dia de pausa ou férias foi bom, em que conectamos mentes fora do olhar dos outros, conectamos também pés (frios!) e/ou as mãos, em que vemos a outra pessoa com apenas um olho pois o outro está enterrado na almofada, já com algum sono, mas uma vontade irrepreensível para conversar só mais um bocadinho. Também é o momento para confessarmos algo que nos desagradou ou magoou, em que contamos um segredo pois é quando nos sentimos mais protegidos e confortáveis para o fazer. Por vezes, tudo isto acontece no silêncio.Mas mais vezes ainda, há música de fundo quando estas revelações acontecem. Aqui seguem as minhas escolhas:

Other than songs to talk about love or songs for our sexy times, I think that one of the moments of intimacy that most request a song is Pillow Talk time. This special moment of the day is one of the most precious for me and for a couple. It's the moment where we join pillows and start to vent about our day and forgetting the stress we felt at work or when we want to remember how good our day off was. It is the moment when we connect our minds out of people's sight, when we connect our (cold!) feet and hands, when we look at the other person with a single open eye because the other one is hidden by the pillow. It is the moment when we are already feeling so sleepy, but we want to be awake just for a little while longer because we want to talk to or we want to hear the other person. It is also the frame of time to convey something that might have hurt us or we want to share a new found secret. This happens because it is the time we feel the most protected and heard. And sometimes this happens in the best of silences. But more times than none, there is a sweet soundtrack rolling in the back. Here are my choices:

7 - Skinny Love - Bon Iver

Esta música não é doce, mas faz-me sentir mais apaixonada do que nunca. Porque a Pillow Talk não é um momento para adormecer obrigatoriamente. Pode durar horas e pode precisar de algum vigor. Skinny Love é perfeita. Das melhores músicas que o último trimestre da minha vida me trouxe. This song is not mellow per se, but it makes me feel more in love than ever before. But pillow talk does not mean we are going to fall straight asleep. A good pillow talk can last for hours and needs some good tunes to help out as well. Skinny Love is perfect. One of the best songs the last quarter of my life has brought me.

A Sade é a mãe das músicas de amor e uma das grandes musas da minha vida. A voz dela dá-nos uma paz que este momento íntimo exige. Esta música é apenas perfeita para este momento do dia.
Sade is the mother of love songs and one of the greatest muses of my life. Her voice brings the softness pillow time requests. This track is just perfect for this very special moment of the day.

5 - The Look of Love - Dusty Springfield

Jazzy e suave. A ouvir bem baixinho, pois conhecemos a letra de cor e bem. E enquanto pensamos nesta música, vemos que, efectivamente, o mais importante nesta vida é como a outra pessoa olha para nós. Jazzy and suave. Too listen to it oh so softly. We know this song by heart. And while thinking about this song, we realise that the way our significant other looks at us is just the most important thing in the world.

Esta música é das mais ternurentas que jamais ouvi na vida. Além de fala sobre (des)construir uma casa, uma vida a dois. Este é dos melhores temas a abordar por cima das nossas almofadas. This song is one of the sweetest I have ever heard in my life. Furthermore, it talks about (un)building a home and a life for two. What best topic to have over your pillow?

3 - Shadow - Dornik (4ª música em / 4th song on album sampler)
Esta música acabou de entrar na minha vida, mas entrou pela porta da frente. O álbum do Dornik acabou de sair do forno, mas já me entrou completamente na minha pele e no meu coração. Sexy, calma e dá-me vontade de partilhar o melhor do meu dia. Já agora, ouve o album inteiro. Óptimo para fazer bebés.
This song just got into my life, but it came through the front door and the red carpet all rolled out just for it. Dornik's album just launched, but it is completely under my skin and wrapped around my heard. Sexy, calm... I just feel ready to share my day. Oh, while we are here, please listen to Dronik's entire album. Amazing baby making tracks.

2 - Words and Melody - Kaskade
O Kaskade não faz apenas música para se dançar até altas horas da madrugada. Esta música é perfeita para um momento mais calmo a dois, sobretudo se se está a planear uma viagem juntos (não sei porque estou a dizer isto...). Esta música faz-me pensar num futuro a dois e risonho. E a letra é óptima.
Kaskade is not just about dance music. This song is perfect for some down time, especially when you are planning a trip together (I do not know why I am saying this...). This song makes me wish for a future. A bright one. With togetherness. And the lyrics are just on point.

Como falar deste tema sem mencionar A música que foi escrita justamente para homenagear as Pillow Talks desta vida? A voz do Miguel, a suavidade da música e o poder da letra derretem-me completamente. E gosto sobretudo do facto dele dar sequência ao que se faz antes e depois de uma boa pillow talk.
How to talk about all this and not mention the song that was written precisely about this topic? Miguel's voice, the breezy vibes out of Coffee's rhythms and the powerful lyrics melt me over and over again. I specially like that he says what we must do before and after pillow talk time.
