Maastricht | Eating at the Kruisherenhotel

Estive em Maastricht (Holanda) por alguns dias o ano passado e tive algumas experiências gastronómicas interessantes. Algumas ficaram longe das fotos, mas esta teve de ser registada para mostrar-te um dia (e, 11 meses depois, o dia chegou). Enquanto passeávamos encontrámos um lugar interessante e diferente: um mosteiro com luzes originais. Entrámos e afinal estávamos num hotel de luxo, o Kruisherenhotel Maastricht, que é um dos design hotels mais reputados do mundo. Tu conheces: sabes que me senti como um peixinho na água. O hotel tem cerca de 60 quartos, um hall e um wine bar com uma decoração bem avant-garde e um restaurante em mezzanino onde fomos comer no dia seguinte, após termos reservado por telefone. Pedimos o menu de degustação que segue abaixo. Recomendo este lugar pela experiência!

I spent a couple of days in Maastricht at the end of 2014 and I had a few interesting culinary experiences. Some were unpictured and others were dully photographed so that I could share it with you one day (that day being today, 11 months later...). While we were walking around, we discovered this mysterious and unusual place: a former monastery with bright light. We got inside and gathered that we were in a high-end hotel, the Kruisherenhotel Maastricht, one of the most famous design hotels of the world. You know me: I felt like a fish in the water. The hotel has 60 rooms, a massive hall and a wine bar on the ground floor, with stunning design pieces and a restaurant on the mezzanino floor. That is where we ate the day after, after booking by telephone. We ordered the tasting menu that is pictured below. I recommend this spot for the unusual experience!
